Controller and scope

RelayGuard, Dennis Dchicha, Am Schwanefeld 14, 42551 Velbert, Germany. Email: info@relayguard.de. This notice describes processing in connection with IEC61850Browser for iOS and associated RelayGuard services. The website has an additional, separate privacy notice.

Technical app features

Technical features process target addresses, connection parameters, configuration files, signal assignments, measurements and diagnostic recordings on the device and through communication with target systems initiated by you. External devices selected by you receive the data required for the connection or action. You choose the destination when exporting or sharing. Operating-system, cloud and recipient services may process data under their own terms. Local technical processing is distinct from the online licensing described below.

Account, trial and company licence

For email verification, sign-in and activation, we process email address, internal user identifier, verification status, app and platform, trial campaign, entitlement start and end, and licence status. Company licences also involve company assignment and the agreed licence term. This supports provision and management of your entitlement under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where necessary, preventing abusive repeat use relies on our legitimate interest in a reliable licensing system under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The relevant account-based activation cannot be provided without the required information. App version and build number may also be processed to check approved releases. Sign-in and entitlement tokens are stored locally to maintain your session or activation. For company licences, the assignment may be provided by the responsible company administrator.

Store purchases

Purchase evidence is sent to RelayGuard and verified with the relevant store. Processing includes product and transaction or order identifiers, purchase and verification times, licence status and applicable duration. The purposes and legal bases are contract performance under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and necessary abuse prevention under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We do not receive store passwords or full payment details. Apple or Google process store and payment data as independent controllers.

Emails, errors and administration

Authentication and service emails involve recipient address, message identifier, event type and delivery time. Error and security logs may include technical connection data, timestamps and error information. Administrative logs record account, trial and licence changes and may contain affected identifiers and change contents. Purposes include operation, troubleshooting, security and accountability under Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR, as applicable. We process information supplied in enquiries to address your request. The delivery provider also processes the sender, message content and technical delivery data to deliver the requested message. Sign-in and activation emails are transactional service messages.

Service providers and locations

Supabase Pte. Ltd. supports the database, authentication and backend functions. The production database project is in Frankfurt (eu-central-1). Plus Five Five, Inc. (Resend, USA) supports email delivery and delivery events; the sending domain is configured for Ireland (eu-west-1). Encrypted database backups are stored with Hetzner Online GmbH in Falkenstein, Germany. STRATO GmbH hosts the website. Data processing agreements are in place with these providers. Authorised administrators receive access as necessary for operation, support and licence administration.

Retention

The regular cleanup periods for data managed by RelayGuard are 12 months from the event for email delivery logs, 24 months from the most recent occurrence for central error events, and 36 months from the recorded action for administrative logs. Local log archives are cleaned up after 24 months; for older archives without a reliable date, this period starts at first archiving. These periods apply to logs we manage, not automatically to logs maintained independently by service providers. Trial-only accounts are scheduled for automatic deletion when all trial entitlements have been expired for at least 24 months, taking extensions into account. Accounts associated with an administrator, a company or a licence, and accounts without a trial entitlement, are excluded from this automatic rule. This technical exception does not authorise indefinite retention: continued purposes, statutory obligations and, where applicable, specific legal claims govern these records. Necessary evidence of permanent licences is needed for the duration of the right to use, not all account data or logs. Erasure requests and an earlier end of the purpose are assessed separately. Enquiries and related correspondence are retained only as long as needed to address them or as required by law.

International processing

Supabase, Resend and their subprocessors may process data outside the European Economic Area, particularly for support and infrastructure, including in Singapore or the USA. A German database location or European sending region does not rule out such transfers. Where no applicable adequacy decision covers a transfer, the respective data processing agreements provide for EU Standard Contractual Clauses as appropriate safeguards. Information and a copy of the applicable safeguards are available from info@relayguard.de. Further details: https://supabase.com/legal/customer-resources/data-processing-addendum and https://resend.com/legal/dpa; subprocessors: https://supabase.com/legal/customer-resources/subprocessor-list and https://resend.com/legal/subprocessors.

Database backups

Encrypted database backups support recovery after data loss or technical failure. Regular backups covered by our backup management are scheduled for cleanup after 36 months from creation. The most recently verified backup is technically excluded from automatic deletion to preserve a recovery option. The necessity of this exception must be assessed separately; it does not promise indefinite retention. Backups may contain older account, authentication and log records. They are separated from normal operations and are not used for routine licensing or new purposes. Erasure from the active system does not immediately remove every copy in existing backups. Separate, access-restricted erasure records are retained insofar as needed to reapply intervening erasures and restrictions following restoration. They contain the identifiers and process evidence required for this purpose, not the full erased dataset. This protection is applied before normal operation resumes. Technical backup rules do not override statutory erasure duties.

Local data and account deletion

You manage local files, settings and exports on your device. Uninstalling an app does not necessarily remove separately exported files, operating-system backups or protected keychain entries. It also does not automatically delete a RelayGuard account or terminate a store contract. For account deletion or access requests, contact info@relayguard.de; we verify your entitlement and explain any remaining records that must lawfully be retained.

Technical entitlement checks

Activation is checked technically against email verification, app and platform, trial campaign, approved version, store purchase status or company licence and its duration. A failed check may prevent access to licensed features. If you consider a refusal incorrect, you can request a review by us at info@relayguard.de. Accepting the terms of use is not blanket consent to additional processing.

Store services and technical connection data

The app uses Apple StoreKit to connect to the App Store. Apple processes store data under its own privacy notices, for example for purchases, security and technical provision. Technical requests to RelayGuard and its service providers include the IP address and request data needed for the connection. Operating-system and store diagnostics additionally depend on your settings and Apple’s terms.

Your rights

Subject to applicable requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw consent for the future. You may complain to a data protection authority, particularly in your place of residence or work or where an alleged infringement occurred. Address requests to info@relayguard.de.
